STONES CORNER PLACEMAKING & ARTWORK

If you are Brisbane based and like art, plants and placemaking and especially if you have imaginative kids - go check out Stones Corner Library! Circ Design have created an imaginative and interactive installation which represents the feeling of being part of the nearby creek and allows for children's play. This is to celebrate the excellent work Brisbane City Council and their teams have done in revitalising the nearby Norman Creek and Hanlon Park. It's worth a look. - Now filled with lush planting, places for picnics, play, lawned areas and looking over the once again beautiful creek.
To represent the creek the installation includes a structure decorated in recycled hosing above creek grasses and an artwork representing 'rock hoppers' in eddies of water which kids can jump to and fro. There are also chalkboards for children to draw and sketch creek creatures and a gallery of creek inspired art leading down the pathway to the park. A really fantastic #placemaking #green and #urbanart project with collaboration from Ellia Guy and the team at Future Wild, artist Lisa Kelly and client leads Geoff Wilkinson, Richard Stride and team at BCC.
Council are doing other fun things too in Stones Corner and around Hanlon Park - well worth a discovery day with the family.
