Catherine Simpson

Director, Urban Design, Landscape and Placemaking

Catherine Simpson is an urban designer, placemaker and landscape architect who has worked internationally and now calls Brisbane home.

Cat is nationally recognised as a placemaking and streetscape expert who works across urban design, place planning and landscape and has implemented novel innovations in green infrastructure and building resilience in cities. She is also the founder of Green the Street - an initiative which fosters greener, more liveable, people focussed streets in Brisbane and Australia. Beyond consultancy, Cat is passionate about empowering communities to take ownership of their environments around them. She regularly lectures and is a board member of the University of Queensland’s Urban Design Advisory Panel, sitting on a range of committees and panels in the built environment.

Waldemar Jenek is an urban technology specialist and digital designer delivering high-value solutions across urban design, immersive technology, and user experience. Specialising in bridging the gap between business goals and user needs, Waldemar has contributed to innovative urban projects by creating 3D renderings focused on sustainable design and consulting on integrating immersive technologies to enhance community engagement. This work has included detailed visualisations within Circ Design’s first nations engagement strategies and urban design projects.

 

Andy Bates

Art and events Project Coordinator and Placemaking consultant
 

Andy Bates is an interactive artist, designer and researcher with a passion for biophilic artworks and design. Currently completing his PhD candidate at the Urban Informatics group within QUT Design Lab in biophilic art frameworks, Andy is also employed as an associate lecturer across both Interaction Design and Visual Communication disciplines in the QUT School of Design. In this role he lectures in Advanced Web Design and Design Thinking.

Lori Dean

Planning, Transport and Wayfinding Expert

Lori is an experienced designer, urban planner and project manager. Over the last 20 years, Lori has worked in master planning, urban renewal and design, wayfinding and environmental graphic design, visual communication, active transport and project management. She has worked for local and state governments and in private industry.

 

 

 

Jamie Simpson

Graphic Design, Marketing and Engagement
 

With a background in marketing at business consulting company nem Australasia and as co-founder of digital marketing agency, dotthei.com.au, Jamie keeps one foot in front of the other when it comes to brand. With a technical background in finance, graphics and web design and digital marketing, Jamie has both a keen understanding of project fundamentals and the importance of project messaging.
